Welcome to 1st Grade!
Dear Parents and Students,
God has certainly blessed us with another beautiful summer. It has gone by very quickly, and it is time to begin preparing for the new school year.
As you begin to get ready for 1st grade remember your back to school supplies. On the first day of school I ask that each student bring the items from the list below. Many of these items can be found at Meijer and Target stores. Please place your student’s name on the items if possible.
- Pocket Folder (to travel between home and school)
- Crayon box (at least 16 count)
- #2 pencils (not plastic covered)
- A Pencil box
- Glue stick (no liquid glue)
- A pocket folder
- A 1 inch three ring binder (plain colors only please)
- Water bottle (optional)
- A box of Kleenex
- A clip board (wooden are best)
- A paint shirt
- 2-pocket folder for Spanish class
- 9”x 12” spiral sketch book for art class
- P.E. shoes (recommended by P.E. teacher)
As you begin shopping for back to school items remember to keep in mind what would be good for students to have at school. Students should not bring any toys, should dress according to the student handbook, and should not have a backpack that has wheels because they do not fit in our school lockers. Students may bring their own pack of markers and/or colored pencils, but we will mainly be using crayons in class. Please do not bring pens.
As the first day of school approaches I am praying for all of you, and am looking forward to having each student in my class. The week before school begins I will be spending time preparing our classroom. Feel free to stop by and say hello.
In Christ,
Melissa Frieswyk
