Ms. Sjaarda has taught for eight years, four of which have been at  Muskegon Christian School.  She also taught at R. Clem Churchwell Elementary School in Lakeland, Florida for four years.  Lisa earned her B.A. Degree in Elementary Education with minors in Language Arts and Science from Calvin College.  Ms. Sjaarda has participated in Disney's Teacherrific Awards and Symposium as well as Love and Logic Institute's Annual Rocky Mountain Summer Conference in Colorado.  Ms. Sjaarda enjoys seeing her fourth grade students grow little by little throughout the year into responsible young people and appreciates that MCS students can learn and grow together in a Christ-centered environment.

Ms. Sjaarda enjoys biking, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.
