Our curriculum is based on the State of Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs), but is not directly written from them. At MCS, we teach the concepts and ideas behind the GLCE’s and conduct curriculum studies comparing our curriculum to check for gaps. Topics beyond those contained in the GLCEs are also offered at MCS, as we believe they are vital to understanding the world and Our Creator. We pride ourselves in exceeding academic expectations, while teaching and applying a Christian perspective in all we do in and outside the classroom.
Northwestern Education Association Measures of Academic Progress (NWEA-MAP Test): Standardized test scores support the fact that MCS offers a high quality academic experience. While we do not make standardized test taking a focus of our curriculum, MCS consistently scores well above the average and is consistently the highest or among the highest in the area.
